About SA Biz Directory

SA Biz Directory is a South African business directory built around one idea: a directory is only useful — to visitors and to search engines — if the listings on it are real and the pages say something.

How it works

Businesses submit their own details through the listing form. Every submission is read by a person before it is published. Listings that are duplicates, that copy their description from another directory, or that give no real detail are not published.

What a listing gets

  • Its own page at a permanent URL, with the business name in the title and heading.
  • A followed link to the business website. No nofollow, no redirect script.
  • Valid LocalBusiness structured data covering address, phone, coordinates, opening hours and service area.
  • FAQPage structured data where the business supplies questions and answers.
  • A map pin on its own page, its town page and the homepage map.
  • Placement on the relevant category page, town page and combined category-and-town page.
  • Inclusion in the XML sitemap.

What this directory does not do

There are no star ratings, no review counts and no "top 10" badges. Those numbers are trivial to fabricate and directories that publish invented ones eventually get discounted by search engines and distrusted by users. Where a listing says something factual — an address, a registration, a service area — it is because the business supplied it.

Coverage

All nine provinces and 56 cities and towns, across 39 industry categories. Pages are only created for combinations that have at least one real listing, so you will not find empty "plumbers in [town]" pages padded out to look bigger than the directory is.

Maps and data

Maps use OpenStreetMap data, and addresses are placed using OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. No tracking scripts are loaded to show you a map.
